The Assistant Pharmacy Manager, Quality Assurance (QA) is responsible for ensuring that daily pharmacy dispensary operations are carried out safely, accurately and efficiently to support the timely delivery of CareRx pharmacy services. This role upholds all internal policies and external regulatory requirements while maintaining high standards of operational and clinical quality. Working in collaboration with the Pharmacy Manager, the incumbent will act as the Subject Matter Expert on regulatory and compliance matters, billing initiatives, medication incident investigations and data analysis. The Assistant Pharmacy Manager, QA leads a team of direct reports and is responsible for ensuring adherence to operational processes to support the departmental goals and people management activities.

Regulatory&Compliance Responsibilities
Manage and support employees in areas related to regulatory and compliance requirements, billing initiatives, and controlled substances policy adherence.
Serve as a subject matter expert on College of Pharmacists of BC regulatory standards, providing operational guidance and best practice learnings.
Oversee the accuracy, completeness, and regulatory compliance of medication reviews, ensuring they are completed and maintained as required.
Provide compliance-focused training to registered staff to ensure accuracy, quality, and consistency of services.
Medication Incident Management
Investigate medication incident reports by conducting detailed evaluations, identifying root causes, and recommending corrective actions.
Collaborate with the Assistant Pharmacy Manager, Operations to develop and implement corrective action plans that prevent incident recurrence.
Communicate incident findings, corrective actions, and recommendations to facility staff and relevant stakeholders.
People Leadership&Team Support
Actively problem‑solve and participate in conflict resolution within the team, including contributing to performance management discussions.
Act as the first point of contact for departmental inquiries, ensuring timely and accurate support.
Train new employees and provide progress updates to the Pharmacy Manager.
Participate in and lead hiring, onboarding, coordination, and training of new team members, including off‑site support staff.
Document payroll and HR-related items for direct reports, as applicable.
Contribute to key managerial responsibilities such as payroll oversight, scheduling, hiring, coaching, and constructive resolution of workplace issues.
Operational&Project Support
Provide project support as required.
Support pharmacy operations within the scope of their designation, as needed.
Technical Competencies
Working knowledge of Kroll and eMAR systems.
Competency with Microsoft Office software.
Ability to navigate UltiPro and Doculink.
Behavioral Competencies
Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a team and build relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Present oneself in a positive, unbiased, and confident manner.
Self‑directed and able to work independently with minimal supervision.

Minimum Education and Experience
Registration as a Pharmacist in good standing with a provincial licensing College of Pharmacist of BC.
Minimum of 3 years of experience as a practicing pharmacist.
Previous experience in Long‑Term Care pharmacy is an asset.
Proven knowledge of Provincial regulatory standards and College requirements.
2 years of supervisory or leadership experience is an asset.
Compensation Range:
$118,000 - $131,000. Actual pay rate will be based on the individual candidate’s credentials and experience.
Location:
This is an on‑site role at our 8525‑8501 Commerce Court, Burnaby, BC location.
Working Hours:
Monday - Friday (9:00am - 5:00pm). Hours and days can vary based on operational needs.
Opportunity:
This is a current existing position and is Full Time.
