Assistant General Manager, Canada, Burnaby

About the Role

The Assistant General Manager is the senior executive responsible for the overall leadership, performance, and growth of Cubic Transportation Systems (CTS) in Canada. In this role you will own a nationally significant, technology-enabled infrastructure program from design and build to long‑term service delivery, with full P&L accountability for the Canada business and its major programs. Key Responsibilities

Develop, communicate, and execute the business strategy and Annual Operating Plan (AOP) in alignment with CTS objectives. Lead the full lifecycle of programs—from contract award and onboarding through design, build, operations, and long‑term service delivery—ensuring regulatory and contractual compliance.Own program‑level P&L, driving revenue, operating profit, cash flow, and return on net assets to achieve growth targets through cost control, schedule discipline, risk management, and commercial initiatives. Direct sales and account management teams to identify and capitalize on new opportunities, expand services, and manage change orders.Build and sustain trusted relationships with senior government officials, transport agencies, regulators, customers, and industry partners; represent CTS at executive forums, public meetings, and industry events. Manage contract terms, claims, and negotiations in coordination with legal counsel to protect CTS interests and resolve disputes.Ensure all operations and programs comply with contractual obligations, regulatory requirements, safety standards, quality systems, and CTS policies. Lead, inspire, and develop high‑performing direct and matrixed teams across engineering, program management, operations, supply chain, and commercial functions.Drive transformation and continuous improvement initiatives to support CTS’s transition toward a globally integrated delivery and support model. Minimum Job Requirements

Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) with a minimum of 10+ years in progressive leadership roles in program management. Strong strategic leadership and vision, with experience managing full, non‑matrixed P&L and commercial ownership. Deep understanding of government relations and stakeholder engagement for complex, regulated projects. Experience in program and operational excellence, including continuous improvement, KPI development, and risk management. Proven ability to develop talent and plan for succession.Change leadership and transformation capability. Compensation

Cubic Pay Range: $180,000.00– $255,000.00* + benefits. The base pay for this position ranges from our lowest geographic market up to our highest geographic market. This pay range is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include responsibilities, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and internal equity.*Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several Canadian geographic markets.
