Mechanical Design Engineer, Burlington

Location: Burlington (Hybrid - 2 days remote)

Hours of work: 40 hours/week

Overview We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer with 10+ years of experience to join our team as a Subject Matter Expert (SME). The ideal candidate will bring strong design engineering expertise and direct experience within the nuclear industry.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and execute mechanical design engineering activities for nuclear projects

Develop, prepare, and review detailed design specifications and technical documentation

Perform design calculations, analysis, and validation of mechanical systems and components

Provide technical leadership and act as a Subject Matter Expert within the team

Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure design integration and compliance

Ensure all designs meet applicable codes, standards, and regulatory requirements

Support design reviews, audits, and client interactions

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent)

10+ years of relevant design engineering experience

Proven experience in the nuclear industry

Strong expertise in preparing and writing design specifications

Hands‑on experience with mechanical system design and analysis

Familiarity with applicable nuclear codes and standards
