The maintenance mechanic technician repairs and maintains, in accordance with diagrams, sketches, operation manuals, and manufacturer's specifications, machinery and mechanical plant equipment such as pumps, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines and equipment, using hand tools, power tools. Precision measuring and testing instruments and adjustment of equipment as required as well as maintenance rounds and inspections.
Responsibilities
Repair of process equipment (pumps, hydraulic, pneumatic and mechanical systems)
Required maintenance of mobile equipment (loaders, forklifts)
Troubleshoot and monitor process equipment
Interact with equipment operators to determine needs
Utilize welding and fabrication tools to alter, repair, and fabricate processing equipment.
Perform the preventative maintenance program established by the company.
Document and report all maintenance work performed and advise of future requirements in a timely manner.
Test and adjust equipment to meet performance specifications.
Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
Safe and responsible operation of company equipment at all times.
Abide by OHSA (Occupational Health and Safety Act) workplace health and safety standards.
Willingness and availability to participate in on-call rotation.
May involve shift work.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Intermediate Computer Skills (Microsoft Office)

Systems process knowledge
Mechanical and electrical skills
Experience in hydraulics, electrical, pumps, valves, piping, threading, and pneumatic systems
Excellent troubleshooting skills
Basic mechanical knowledge in wood industry preferred.
Experience in fabrication and welding of various metals (including pipe welding)
Able to operate a forklift/loader
Able to work at heights
Able to perform confined space entries.
