Research and Development Clinical Research Assistant (LW), Brandon Region (Killarney)

We require an individual to join the NHS Fife Research&Development Team within the Research, Innovation&Knowledge Department to work part time across the organisation to support R&D research nurses and clinical investigators to run research studies within NHS Fife.

Responsibilities

Support and monitor research participants, collecting and documenting accurate research data.

Provide comprehensive administrative support and collaborate with local NHS Fife investigators and multi‑disciplinary teams.

Manage own workload with supervision from existing R&D research nurses.

Work at Victoria Hospital, QMH and other NHS Fife sites on a regular basis.

Qualifications

Basic knowledge of research principles, confidentiality, randomisation procedures, informed consent and ethical issues.

Clinical trials experience desirable but not essential.

Strong administrative, organisational and communication skills.

Excellent IT skills and methodical approach.

Proven ability to work as part of a team.

Ability to travel regularly throughout NHS Fife.

Additional Requirements To be considered, candidates must be a member of the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme prior to appointment and must have the right to work in the United Kingdom.

This post will be on a 21‑month basis in the first instance with potential for extension based on activity. Pay is pro‑rata for part‑time hours.
