Overview
Production Supervisor
Reporting to the Production Manager, this role is responsible for supervising manufacturing operations and employees for a designated value stream. This position plans and assigns resources, implements policies and procedures, recommends and executes improvements in production methods, equipment, operating procedures and working conditions.Responsibilities
Balance quality, productivity, cost, safety and morale to achieve positive results in all areas, meeting and improving schedule dates, quality, process times, inventory levels and resource utilization while managing department priorities. Supervise the work and activities of manufacturing employees, manage manpower and materials needed to complete jobs accurately and on time, monitor production schedules and results, manage departmental performance measures, and provide regular progress reports to management and peers.Monitor/approve time and attendance of departmental employees, issue corrective actions when required. Manage and maintain approved headcount with HR coordination, and justify required changes. Monitor all transactional departmental performance, including work order management and inventory transactions; drive root cause investigations for issues such as scrap, rework, inventory, and past due work orders, and provide recommendations based on diagnostics.Foster effective employee relations by communicating with employees, providing regular feedback, mentoring and development, and resolving employee issues through coaching and problem resolution. Evaluate and update the performance of team members against job requirements and performance goals; recommend corrective actions and provide input on employment decisions.Determine departmental training requirements and establish, create, and maintain training matrices and records (e.g., TWI, ISO, cross training, onboarding). Ensure safety compliance of all departmental employees and lead EH&S activities per WHMIS guidelines. Identify and coordinate appropriate safety training; create, maintain and enforce departmental and company safety rules. Support JHSC activities, incident reporting, accident investigations and safety audits; ensure 6S standards are met and a safe, clean work area is maintained daily.Initiate, implement and lead continuous improvement activities; monitor trends, perform root cause analysis on quality issues, and develop corrective actions as required. Collaborate cross-functionally with Supply Chain, Engineering, Safety and other manufacturing support departments. We Are Looking For Someone Who
5-7 years’ progressive experience in a manufacturing environment Minimum of 3 years of experience directing an hourly or manufacturing workforce High school diploma or GED Ability to influence others to foster ideas and continuous improvement Intermediate computer skills including MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and experience with a business planning and inventory systemExcellent problem solving and communication skills Knowledgeable in Continuous Improvement/Lean Manufacturing concepts and procedures Extensive knowledge and leadership in Lean, Six Sigma, 5P and/or other continuous improvement models; participation in related improvement projects Strong analytical, decision-making, negotiation and problem-solving skillsWell-developed organization and prioritization skills; detail-oriented Positive attitude toward change Ability to multi-task under pressure in a fast-paced environment Strong verbal and written communication skills in English Results-oriented, self-motivated with initiative What We Offer You
Typical pay is $73,000.00 - $101,000.00 annually. Pay information is a general guideline and is based on candidate skills, experience, and qualifications. This position is eligible for participation in our Quarterly Incentive Pay Program. Benefits
