Contribute to the future of agriculture as the Agronomy Coordinator at OSCIA. This role supports applied research and farmer cooperators, promoting sustainable farming practices across Ontario.
As the Agronomy Coordinator at the Ontario Soil and Crop Improvement Association, you’ll engage deeply with farmers and researchers to implement effective on-farm trials. The role entails combining agricultural knowledge with research expertise, ensuring quality data and robust partnerships throughout the Living Lab – Ontario program. Your work will be essential in enhancing sustainable farming systems while coordinating various activities and engagements with stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:• Connect researchers and farmers for on-farm trials • Monitor data collection and quality for research accuracy • Execute field sampling aligned with seasonal practices • Oversee agronomic trial activities, including drone seeding • Support stakeholder engagement and knowledge transfer
Requirements:• Degree in soil or crop science; Master’s preferred • 2-5 years experience in field crop production • Strong understanding of agronomic management practices • Excellent communication and relationship management skills • Valid driver’s license and access to reliable transportation
