As a Records Management Associate, you will be an integral part of a collaborative team focused on delivering seamless services and programs to our patients, clients, and customers. Hours: Temporary full time for up to 18 months
What you’ll be doing:
Release of Information from the patient record to applicable healthcare providers, employers, referral sources, etc. involved in the patient’s care
Provide information relating to the patient files to internal physicians and other healthcare providers involved in the circle of care
Support and govern inpatient unit staff communication, to patient referral sources
Prioritize workload to meet hospital and quality standards
Recognize, interpret inconsistencies, discrepancies and inaccuracies in clinical reports and flag for clarification from the author, as needed
Close and lock electronic patient charts
Access patient record as needed for clarification and accuracy of data/information
Comply with hospital, general business standards and completion requirements that apply to the patient record
Perform support for the CIM Department as necessary
What we’re looking for:
Completion of a Health Office Administration Certificate
Minimum of six (6) months of experience in a similar administrative or healthcare support role is preferred
Demonstrated knowledge of confidentiality, privacy, and applicable healthcare legislation
Strong verbal and written communication skills, with proven problem‑solving and conflict resolution abilities
Advanced proofreading and editing capabilities with exceptional attention to detail
Proficiency in computer applications, including spreadsheets, email platforms, database software, electronic health records (EHR), and the Microsoft Office Suite.
Solid understanding of medico‑legal requirements and responsibilities related to legal health records, including compliance with legislative standards and privacy regulations
Knowledge of medical and psychiatric terminology is considered an asset
