About the Role
We are currently looking for an Applied Machine Learning Scientist - Computer Vision to fill a new role and join our Research&Innovation team. Reporting to the Director, Embryo Research (with close collaboration across Production and IT), this role develops, deploys, and operationalizes computer vision and predictive models that improve quality control and decision support in lab and production workflows. What You Will Do
Develop and deploy computer vision models for lab imaging workflows that improve consistency, throughput, and decision support across semen and embryo quality processes. Build predictive models that support optimization and decision‑making across production workflows, with rigorous validation and monitoring plans.Lead applied research initiatives including imaging‑based outcome prediction, anomaly detection, and fertility/demand forecasting. Develop forecasting and planning models to support supply&demand planning and product selection decisions, partnering with business and operational stakeholders. Own data pipelines, ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes, APIs (Application Programming Interface), and ML Ops (Machine Learning Operations) systems ensuring scalable, reproducible, secure deployments.Drive automation adoption through SOP (Standard Operating Procedure) development, staff training, and post‑deployment monitoring for drift, accuracy, and reliability. Maintain compliance with governance, privacy standards, IP (Intellectual Property) protection, and responsible AI practices. What You Need to Succeed
Master of Science (MSc) in Computer Science, Data Science, Computer Vision, Bioinformatics, Animal Science (ML/AI focus), or closely related field (or equivalent experience). 2–4 years of relevant applied ML/AI (Machine Learning / Artificial Intelligence) experience (or equivalent combination of education + production experience).Hands‑on Computer Vision: image/video pipelines, labeling/annotation workflows, model training, evaluation, and failure‑mode analysis. End‑to‑end ML lifecycle experience: data acquisition, baselines, training, validation, deployment, monitoring (drift/accuracy), and rollback. MLOps/DevOps (Development and Operations) capability: CI/CD (Continuous Integration / Continuous Deployment) for ML, reproducible pipelines, monitoring/observability, secure deployments.Ability to translate research outputs into maintainable, user‑ready operational solutions, including documentation aligned with quality expectations (baselines, validation, bias/drift checks). Strong technical communication and collaboration with Research and Innovation (R&I;), IT (Information Technology), and lab/production teams; proactive issue solving and comfort balancing speed with quality.
