Group Summary The Mechatronics, Mirrors and Lighting group specializes in automotive technologies that are driving the future of mobility. Combining a deep systems knowledge to develop unique vehicle access experiences, intelligent vision systems and advanced automotive lighting technologies, MML's expertise lights the path to innovation, safety and styling.
Job Responsibilities COMPENSATION: $27.86/Hour
Operates various machines involved in the assembly and testing of parts by inspecting and inserting appropriate pieces, activating machine, receiving and inspecting assembled parts and placing it in the appropriate bin or box
May rotate and operate all machines in assembly
May be required to hand assemble pieces or components as required
Interact with Quality Group, as necessary, to understand the acceptable level of part quality
Implement and drive MPS activities and initiatives
Uphold 5S standard for continuous improvement
Set‑up, adjust; maintain assembly equipment, changeover equipment and machinery to required schedules
Ensure housekeeping and safety standards are maintained at all times
Perform Total Preventative Maintenance (TPM), activities as per TPM check sheet (Line Specific)
Support Maintenance department as required
Adhere to Line Cycle Time
Perform general maintenance on equipment
Review and sign all communications at beginning of shift (i.e. Log Books, Quality Alerts, etc.)
Complete all documentation and records as it relates to the set‑up function
Must be aware of relevance/importance of their activities - how it affects quality/environment for our Customers
Perform other duties as required
Health, Safety and Environmental Responsibility
Ensure that environmental standards are identified, communicated, and enforced within the department.
Ensure all safety and environmental rules and regulations are followed.
Ensure adherence to established quality and housekeeping standards.
Review and adhere to division health and safety, environmental, and quality standards, operating procedures, and policies.
Respond immediately to items brought to his/her attention with respect to hazards, defects, or non‑compliance issues.
Understand and uphold the policies that prohibit workplace violence and harassment.
In addition to the above, the duties include those specified under the Occupational Health&Safety Act.
Qualifications
Grade 12 Diploma or equivalent required
Knowledge, Skills,&Abilities
Proven track record for performance and attendance in current position required
Formal Lockout/Tagout training required
1–3 years of related work experience
Valid Driver's license and ability to travel between plants required
Prior work experience in an automotive manufacturing environment or equivalent an asset
Comprehend the three main control factors of production plant: NG (no good parts), DT (downtime) and CT (cycle time)
Working Conditions
Ability to work flexible hours and willing to work overtime, as required
Ability to bend, twist, lift, reach
Ability to lift max. 50lbs periodically
Ability to stand, walk, climb, kneel on a regular basis
Ability to work at a computer workstation (sitting or standing)
Ability to work in areas that may have slippery conditions
Required to carry out job duties and responsibilities in a work environment that may include, but is not limited to, varying levels of noise and or temperature
This is an onsite position
