The Opportunity Reporting to the Director, HRIS and Analytics, the Sr. Product Owner, HRIS will be a key functional and hands‑on lead for Atlantic Packaging’s end‑to‑end HRIS implementation across Ontario, Quebec and the United States. The successful candidate will deliver the HR Technology product roadmap, lead complex configuration and implementation work, and help establish governance, documentation, release management and sustainment practices for the HRIS function. This is a senior implementation role with significant cross‑functional influence and will provide direction to implementation resources and vendor partners while remaining hands‑on with system configuration and delivery.
What You’ll Do
Serve as the Sr. Product Owner and functional HRIS configuration lead for the HRIS implementation, with primary focus on Core HCM and related employee lifecycle processes
Lead HRIS design, configuration, testing, deployment and stabilization activities across business processes, supervisory organizations, position management, job profiles, security roles, calculated fields, reports, dashboards, data conversion and integrations
Partner with HR COEs, Payroll, Finance, IT, Operations and external implementation partners to understand requirements and resolve complex process or system issues
Own and maintain the HRIS product backlog, configuration governance, documentation standards, release planning and enhancement prioritization in alignment with the HRIS roadmap
Support the end‑to‑end HRIS implementation across Ontario, Quebec and the United States, ensuring regional requirements, unionized environments, hourly and salaried populations and manufacturing operations are considered in design decisions
Lead data readiness and migration activities, including data mapping, validation, issue resolution, audit routines and alignment to HR data governance standards
Work with technical and integration teams to define and validate data flows between HRIS, payroll providers, time systems, finance, identity management, benefits and reporting platforms
Lead testing cycles, UAT coordination, defect triage, cutover preparation, training support, hypercare and post go‑live stabilization for assigned workstreams
Build, maintain and support HR analytics, dashboards and reporting solutions that provide accurate workforce insights and enable data‑driven decision‑making across HR, Finance and business leadership
What You Bring Required
5-7 years of hands‑on HRIS experience with a strong focus on configuration, implementation, optimization and sustainment
Proven expertise in Core HCM and business process configuration; experience with one or more of Recruiting, Onboarding, Talent, Learning, Compensation, Absence, Time Tracking, Reporting or Security is strongly preferred
Demonstrated experience supporting or leading an end‑to‑end HRIS implementation, including requirements gathering, solution design, configuration, testing, data migration, go‑live and hypercare
Strong understanding of HR processes across the employee lifecycle, including hire‑to‑retire data, job changes, position management, compensation changes, recruiting, onboarding, performance, learning and workforce reporting
Experience working with integrations, data conversion, reporting, calculated fields, EIBs, security roles and downstream data dependencies with payroll, finance, identity and time systems
Ability to operate with senior‑level accountability while remaining hands‑on with configuration, testing, troubleshooting and documentation
Preferred
HRIS certification (For eg. Workday, Dayforce, SAP, UKG etc.) in HCM, Recruiting, Talent, Reporting, Security or related modules
Experience in unionized, hourly, salaried or multi‑location environments
Familiarity with payroll, time and attendance, benefits, or operational systems that depend on accurate HR master data
Experience creating dashboards, standard reports, data quality controls and executive‑ready HRIS insights
