Wage:
$36.25 per hour (full-time position; 30 hours per week) Location of Work:
30 Ossington Avenue, Toronto, ON M6J 2Y7 Job Description
Plan and manage the operations of the wine bar Assist in overseeing the daily operations of the bar Determine type of services to be offered and implement operational procedures Manage, recruit and train bar staff to provide excellent customer service Set staff work schedules and monitor staff performanceControl inventory, monitor revenues and modify procedures and prices Ensure that the bar is fully stocked with all necessary supplies Monitor inventory levels and order supplies as needed Overlook private events Create and implement drink menus and promotions Provide wine recommendations Prepare wine flights and wines by the glassTake and prepare wine orders and deliveries; manage online orders Explain menu items in detail Serve wine and food to patrons, if required Food handling and minimum food preparation Resolve customer complaints End of day reconciliation and reporting Publish monthly newsletter and create engaging content to support businessComfortable multitasking and working in a fast-paced environment Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations Job Requirements
Minimum 1 year of supervisory experience in the food service sector Excellent knowledge of bar operations, including inventory management, ordering, and customer service Comfortable using a POS system and cash handling/using credit card machine Ability to train and manage a team of bartenders and barbacksStrong communication and interpersonal skills to interact with customers and staff Demonstrated ability to handle cash transactions and maintain accurate records Knowledge of local and provincial laws regarding alcohol service and safety Familiarity with bar equipment and ability to troubleshoot and perform basic repairs when necessaryFlexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed Weekends and evenings are mandatory Smart Serve (required) WSET 1 (required) Strong writing skills and ability to write wine blogs for company’s social media How to Apply
