Hotel Maintenance&Operations Technician Position Type:Full Time (Pre-Opening Role) Reports To: Hotel Assistant General Manager, Hotel General Manager Hourly Rate: $27-29 ABOUT THE GLENHILL HOTEL Opening in 2026 at Bathurst and Glencairn, Glenhill Hotel will be a boutique hotel offering a distinctive hospitality experience in Toronto. Located within the Glenhill Condominium development, the hotel operates alongside private residences, requiring close coordination across shared spaces and services.The property features 23 luxury guest rooms and suites, as well as dedicated spaces for community and private gatherings. While the hotel includes event and catering facilities, the primary focus of this role is supporting the maintenance, operational readiness, and overall functionality of guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces.POSITION OVERVIEW The Maintenance&Operations Technician is responsible for maintaining the overall functionality, condition, and operational readiness of the Glenhill Hotel. This includes guest rooms, hotel common areas, and back-of-house environments, ensuring all areas meet the standards of a luxury hotel. This is a hands-on role focused on maintenance, operational readiness, and back-of-house coordination, while supporting the guest experience through a professional, discreet, and service-oriented approach.The Maintenance&Operations Technician works closely with the Hotel Front Desk Team, Housekeeping, and Catering&Events team (as required) to ensure seamless day-to-day operations across the property. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Maintenance&Facilities Maintain awareness of suite presentation standards, ensuring maintenance work supports the overall guest experience and aesthetic expectations of the hotel Perform routine maintenance and basic troubleshooting across guest rooms, hotel spaces, and BOH Execute preventative maintenance schedules across rooms, equipment, and building systemsProactively identify maintenance concerns and operational risks before they impact guests or daily operations Complete minor repairs including electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and general upkeep Inspect guest rooms prior to arrival to ensure maintenance readiness standards are met Respond to and complete maintenance requests through the hotel’s work order system in a timely mannerAccurately log, track, and close out maintenance tasks Coordinate with external vendors for specialized repairs and oversee work on-site Support routine checks of life safety systems (fire alarms, emergency lighting, exits) and report deficiencies Maintain tools, equipment, and maintenance areas in a clean and organized conditionEscalate complex or unresolved issues to management or external vendors as required Logistics, Shipping&Receiving Manage all incoming and outgoing deliveries related to hotel operations Inspect, receive, and organize shipments including linens, supplies, and FF&E Maintain clean, organized, and efficient back of house storage areas Handle waste management, including flattening and disposal of boxes and packaging Inventory&Supply Management Maintain accurate inventory levels of operational supplies and materials Support ordering and restocking of supplies in coordination with management Track usage and always ensure availability of critical items Procure emergency supplies when required to support ongoing operationsMaintenance Quality Program Support the implementation and execution of a structured room and facility inspection program Identify, log, and track maintenance deficiencies Ensure consistency in room readiness and operational standards Guest Support Exercise discretion and professionalism while working within occupied guest and residential-facing environmentsProvide courteous and professional assistance to guests when required, including luggage support and responding to guest requests Maintain a visible yet unobtrusive presence in guest areas Always uphold a high standard of presentation and professionalism Stakeholder Coordination Maintain clear communication and timely updates with hotel leadership and operational teams regarding maintenance status, outstanding issues, and operational impactsBuild strong working relationships with the Residential Concierge Team to ensure alignment across shared spaces Coordinate with internal hotel teams to support day-to-day operations Coordinate with the Catering&Events team strictly in the event of maintenance-related emergencies or technical issues impacting event operations; event setup and execution are managed by third-party vendors QUALIFICATIONS&REQUIREMENTS Previous experience in hotel and multifamily (residential) maintenance, facilities, or a similar role Working knowledge of general building systems (HVAC, plumbing, electrical) Ability to work confidently within a technology-enabled hotel operation, including digital maintenance tracking, guest communication platforms, and electronic access control systemsStrong organizational and inventory management skills Ability to lift, move, and transport operational supplies, equipment, and materials as required Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail Professional communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work independently and across multiple departmentsValid driver’s license and access to a personal vehicle (required for procurement of supplies and emergency response needs) Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays if required KEY COMPETENCIES Hands-on and solution-oriented Detail-driven with strong accountability Organized andprocess-orientedService-focused with a professional demeanor Team-oriented with strong coordination skills POSITION SUMMARY This role is essential to the daily operation of the Glenhill Hotel, ensuring that all physical spaces are maintained to a high standard while supporting a seamless and elevated guest experience.
