Expert Payroll Specialist with LAPP Focus, Airdrie

Elevate your payroll career with a role as a Senior Payroll Specialist, ensuring compliant and precise payroll processing in a complex environment. This position emphasizes pension administration, particularly with the Local Authorities Pension Plan (LAPP).

In this senior role, you will engage in advanced payroll activities, including year-end processes, reconciliations, and audit support. With at least 5-7 years of full cycle payroll experience, your expertise will significantly contribute to internal controls and compliance within the payroll team. You will also provide valuable guidance to Payroll Specialists and Advisors on complex matters to ensure seamless operations.

Key Responsibilities:• Execute complex payroll processing while ensuring compliance • Manage year-end payroll processing, including T4 preparation • Handle LAPP processes like pension buybacks and LWOP reporting • Support audit activities and resolve payroll discrepancies • Recommend improvements for payroll accuracy and efficiency

Requirements:• PCP designation required; PLP considered an asset • Minimum 5-7 years of full cycle payroll experience • In-depth knowledge of Canadian payroll legislation • Strong experience with LAPP and year-end reconciliations • Proficient in Microsoft Office and report writing tools
