Grade 1‑2 Part‑time Shared Responsibility Teacher (Maternity Leave Position)
This is a part‑time teaching role for the 2026/27 school year. The position is a maternity leave position and involves 0.4FTE, with one in‑person teaching day on Tuesdays and the remainder of the FTE completed at home. Qualifications
CERTIFICATED Alberta teacher. Born‑again Christian in full agreement with the statement of faith; abides by the school’s Moral Conduct Policy and mission. Excellent communication, leadership, interpersonal and classroom management skills. Comfortable with ambiguity and able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.Experience in home education considered an asset; strong background in early childhood education preferred. Familiarity with classical education a strong asset; training provided. Willingness to learn and embrace a classical approach to education and curriculum. General Responsibilities
Teach the homeroom grade on Tuesdays during the in‑person school day. Provide support for parents and families throughout the week by answering emails and clarifying concerns. Attend staff meetings and professional development days. Oversee and work with the grade 1‑2 classroom options teachers.Use the Tuesday work period to provide feedback on student work for home use. Use Google Classroom to communicate homework expectations and parent communication. Specific Responsibilities
Deliver mandatory instructional subjects (spelling, composition and grammar, story time integrating culture, history, and Latin). Coordinate a consistent in‑person classroom parent volunteer on Tuesdays to support classroom activities. Adapt and enrich the curriculum with the teacher’s experience, ensuring continuity and progression.Oversee long‑range planning and day‑to‑day teaching and learning. Conduct parent‑teacher interviews twice per year (online appointments). Prepare report cards for students and classes taught. Manage discipline issues during the in‑person day. Remain available via email/Google Classroom for studentand parent inquiries throughout the week.Attend all required ACE staff meetings and additional meetings supporting the program. Spiritual Responsibilities
Model speech, actions, and attitudes consistent with Jesus Christ. Demonstrate the importance of God’s Word, prayer, fellowship, and Christian service. Apply the Matthew 18 principle in dealings with students, parents, administration, and staff. Assist parents in their biblical responsibility for their children’s education.Help students understand God’s love and encourage acceptance of salvation. Professional Responsibilities
Utilize educational opportunities for professional growth. Follow all guidelines for Alberta teachers in the TQS. Seek counsel of others to grow professionally. Provide input and recommendations regarding ACA At‑Home operations. Attend and participate in scheduled meetings. Wear business casual attire; ACE crested blazers provided.Provide a valid TQS indicating years of post‑secondary education. Additional Information
Monthly one‑on‑one meetings with the ACE program principal. Start date: August24, 2026. Salary: varies based on years of education and teaching experience. How to apply: Visit to submit your application.
