Production Worker, Abbotsford British Columbia

Required immediately, our LOCAL ABBOTSFORD BRANCH is seeking a Full-Time Production Worker (Tuesday - Friday 4x10 hour shifts 5:30 AM–4:00 PM).

Primary Responsibilities Production Workers in our Stone Division are responsible for grinding, polishing, laminating, sealing, inspecting products and other related tasks. The position requires the safe and efficient use of a variety of hand tools and mechanical lifters. Loading and unloading materials during production and cleaning up the floors and areas that surround your work area are also required.

Detailed Responsibilities

Maintain a safe work area, clean and clear of debris and clutter; use water at all times to remove silica dust from the environment.

Set up work area by loading stone tops onto carts, using safe lifting practices and mechanical lift support when required.

Review technical drawings of stone tops to understand edging requirements and dimensions.

Grind, polish, contour, measure and inspect stone tops to conform to template specifications.

Prepare and cut edging pieces to size as per specifications; laminate stacked or mitered edges using correct process and adhesives.

Polish, fill and repair areas to remove surface defects.

Utilize computer systems to update order status and mark progress.

Unload parts from work areas onto storage/shipping frames as required.

Review workspace for cleanliness and safety.

Follow safety rules and work safely around equipment, cranes and forklifts.

Support loading and unloading of equipment with guidance for efficient operation.

Support other work areas as required and assigned by Supervisor.

Attend and participate in team huddles and training activities.

Other duties as assigned.

Desired Skills&Experience

1‑Year experience in a similar role with polishing on natural stone and engineered quartz; auto detailing experience considered transferable.

Experience using grinders and polishers.

Hardworking, motivated, well‑organized and task‑oriented.

Basic computer skills, MS Office.

Ability to read units of measurement.

Knowledge of hand woodworking tools and ability to operate power tools such as table saw, chop saw, grinders and polishers.

Strong communication (written and verbal).

Valid driver’s license and clear criminal record check.
